Ep.100 | 5 Minute Drill | You Can Strengthen Your Relationships While Pursuing Success

There exists this paradigm that says you “can’t have your cake and eat it, too” when it comes to success and relationships…

That it’s either one or the other.

How stupid.

You can have both…

But like anything worthwhile in life, it’s going to take work.

Hard work…

And a ton of intention.

But, you can have both.

Don’t let anyone tell you differently.

In today’s 5-Minute Drill, I share a strategy to help you keep your family, friends, and marriage strong while on your pursuit of success. This is one of those lessons I WISH I would’ve learned earlier in my career.

If you want to strengthen your relationships AND reach higher and higher levels of success, then lock in to today’s Drill.

[00:01 – 04:00] Opening Segment

  • J.R. shares his reaction to Monday’s Guest, Aaron Walker, and the boundaries he set around his family and marriage

[04:01 – 07:16] What’s The Drill?

  • If married or engaged or in a serious relationship. Ask these question:
    • Where are you exposed/unprotected in your relationship?
    • What guardrail are you going to put in place?
    • Who’s holding you accountable to it?
  • If not in a serious relationship (or are already in a serious relationship or married and already have guardrails around that), what guardrails do you need to put in place for another area of your life? Ask these questions:
    • Where are you exposed/unprotected (e.g. mind? Body? soul?)?
    • What guardrail are you going to put in place?
    • Who’s holding you accountable to it?

[07:17 – 09:10] Wrapping Up!

  • What’s coming up on the next episode
  • Final words

“Your SUCCESS doesn’t have to come at the expense of your RELATIONSHIPS.” – J.R.
