Failure. It’s a sensitive topic for most.
It’s something I struggled with for years…which is crazy, because, when I was coming up as an athlete, I handled failure well.
Always got better from it.
But, for some reason, when the stakes got higher in my life, I let failure paralyze me.
And for a good 3 ½ years, it negatively impacted my mind, relationships, and decisions around money.
So, if you’re someone who at times gets suffocated by the weight of failure, today’s 5 Minute Drill is especially for you. And if you’re the one who handles failure well, today’s Drill will help you get even better at managing it.
If you want a reliable way to let failure launch you into your next level, then make sure to lock in to today’s Drill.
LET’S GET IT!
[00:01 – 06:10] Opening Segment
- J.R. shares a story about failure from the Jackson State University Bowl Game in 2022
[06:11 – 11:09] What’s The Drill?
STEP 1: Recall a time you failed at something, but eventually moved past it. Could be something big, or something small that still bothered you.
STEP 2: What did you do to move forward from it?
STEP 3: What was the strength of yours that you leveraged that allowed you to move forward?
STEP 4: Now that you’ve unpacked your strength or strengths from your past challenge, ask yourself, “What current challenges of yours require you to take those strengths out of your back pocket?” Where are you NOT leveraging that strength enough right now?
One last thing: go give Hayden Hagler some encouragement. Link to his Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/h.d.h
